The gardens cover four hectares, pnik laurels and pine trees predominate, the stone walls of the chateau seem high and mighty yet cool in the heat of the sun. It is quiet, calm, and ideal for honeymoons. Naturally there is a pool, but it also has a cigar cellar plus a boutique for the shopaholics. This is a splendidly comfortable hotel and restaurant is situated high on a hill just before one reaches the village of Tourtour. I went to La Bastide de Tourtour for a Monday lunch.
