Cooking for Bachelors. Having enjoyed cooking for myself for many years I would like to pass on some quick meals, short cuts and other tips. I have always found it useful to keep a store cupboard to include herbs and spices, tins and a full freezer compartment. As a gourmet and gourmand I love my food and get fed up with restaurant food. Years ago I had a cookbook which was quick dishes when you returned from the pub. Since the police in most countries have clamped down on drinking and driving that book is sadly outdated. One such dish might have been included but I invented it at a later date. Corned beef hash, take a tin opener, a tin of corned beef, a tin of baked beans, and egg and an onion, optional garlic.
Chop the onion and soften it in a saucepan with some butter or oil. Now add the corned beef and baked beans keeping a low heat under the pan. The corned beef will gradually fall Apart and bind with the beans and onion. Stir occasionally just before serving stir in the egg to bind the mixture together.
Serve. Eggs Florentine.
Take some frozen leaf spinach, some grated cheese and one or two eggs.
Pop the spinach into a dish, thaw the spinach in the microwave, now add the cheese and mix it in with the spinach. Poach an egg while the spinach cheese mixture and add to the hot spinach. More soon.
