Not the Quag's of yesteryear, this is a modern showcase for the rich and famous plus the Essex girls who heavily outnumber the stars. The curvy stone stairs are there to make a grand entrance, practice. The re- vamp was done for Sir Terrance Conran who believes in BIG restaurants. This one has 300 seats and is not for the aurally impaired as the reverberations of Essex mount to scream pitch. The simple fish and roasted things, the spice lamb with roast onions are all good. The menu changes frequently. Reasonable prices for wine by the glass, carafe and bottle. Look down your nose at the dinners below from the bar which seats 90.
