Gazette 79 Riverside Plaza
Chatfield Road
London SW11 3SE Telephone 0207 223 0999 At last I have found a jolly, pleasant joint with good food and friendly service, plus the menu is French.
Dash, I forgot Gazette also offers value.
A good and interesting wine list with reasonably priced wines, I had a 50cl pichet of St Cirice at £10.30. Beat the recession and beat a path to the door. This atmospheric place offers such a good selection of dishes choice could be a pain. Looking at the menu I decided to do the French thing and start with snails. A dozen in a cocot dish was £6.50, a great way to get one's daily garlic intake. But I did not finish my garlic lunch there I followed the snails quickly with Moule. A small portion costs £5.50, did I say small? No the restaurant did, small was more than enough for a big man. Washing down the food and wine with an expresso £1.30. This was a spoily lunch and great food and good wine, what was missing? Why a girl on my knee.
If you don't go an try Gazette I will never speak to you again. Another plus one can sit outside and look at the river.
