San Martino, Villa Cafaggio

Article last updated on:  Saturday April 25th

San Martino, Villa Cafaggio, Vendemmia 2001.

An expensive wine from Toscana. Worth it? No not worth the $50 paid for the bottle after a 50% reduction.
Yes, it has lots of fruit and shows its age but does not shout hello I am wonderful. A very pleasant quaff but not a serious contender for anything let alone a Super Tuscan.

Searching the web $27 a bottle was a more typical price or £18 in the UK.
