There has been a restaurant on this site for many years. Earlier establishments did not have to carry the burden of a foul mouthed chef who left in a huff from this super restaurant. I saw correspondence to him which reported how he had behaved to several customers. It upset me so much that I will never eat his food. That was the past and writ small. Today the chef, William Drabble, is a superstar. I have eaten at many one, two and three starred Michelin restaurants around the world, as indeed had my guest Penelope. To say we were impressed would be the biggest understatement uttered in the English language. Food can give as much pleasure as any sensual delight, William Drabble's cooking is orgasmic. We chose the truffle menu, which runs approximately from October until the middle of February and then starts again. The matching wines for each course were chosen by Christophe Thuilot, the Head-Sommelier. Bravo Christophe. Petite Marmite of Game with White Truffle
